On December 10, 2012 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “On measures to further improve foreign language learning system” is noted that in the framework of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan «On education» and the National Programme for Training in the country, a comprehensive foreign languages’ teaching system, aimed at creating harmoniously developed, highly educated, modern-thinking young generation, further integration of the country to the world community, has been created [1].
Nowadays education plays great role in society, and the study of foreign languages occupies one of the priority places. Listening is one of the most important types of speech activity. For the effective development of listening skills, it is necessary to use a variety of tasks with the use of visual learning tools at different stages (before listening, during listening, after listening to audio text). In general, it can be argued that learning to listen with visibility remains an interesting and relevant problem for research, given the emphasis on the development of oral communication skills at the current stage. Listening is the ability to distinguish and understand what others are saying, and in relation to academic work in a foreign language class, is an understanding of speaking another language by ear during its passage. The problem of learning the perception of authentic speech by ear is one of the most important aspects of learning foreign language communication, and that is why the development and development of listening teaching technologies that meet the needs of the time are extremely important. We are faced with listening as an independent type of speech activity in various situations of real communication. This happens when we listen: various ads; radio and television news; various instructions and instructions; lectures; companions stories; performances of actors; interlocutor in a telephone conversation, etc. The materials presented for the work on listening lessons should first of all be authentic. Authentic materials used in the lessons can be divided into authentic and educational authentic. Authentic materials are materials taken from original sources, which are characterized by natural lexical content and grammatical forms, situational adequacy of the language tools used, illustrates authentic word usage cases, and which, although not intended specifically for educational purposes, can be used in teaching foreign language.
Educational and authentic materials are materials specially developed taking into account all parameters of the authentic educational process and criteria of authenticity and intended for solving specific educational problems.
The material for teaching listening should also meet the following requirements:
- Correspondence to the age characteristics of students and their speech experience in their native and foreign languages.
- Content is new and interesting for students.
- Representation of different forms of speech.
- The presence of redundant elements of information.
- The naturalness of the situation presented in it, the characters and circumstances.
- The ability of the material to cause a reciprocal emotional response.
- It is desirable to have educational value.
It is necessary to emphasize in particular that teaching a natural, modern foreign language is possible only with the use of materials taken from the life of native speakers or made up taking into account the peculiarities of their culture and mentality in accordance with the accepted and used speech norms. The use of such authentic and learning-authentic materials, which are a natural speech product, created for methodological purposes, will make it possible to more effectively perform listening instruction, to imitate immersion into the natural speech environment in a foreign language class.
